Overview

Hey, Zoë here from the Contra team! She is excited to announce that they are developing their community team. At Contra, their number one priority is ensuring that they provide everything a freelancer or independent would need to own their independent journey from A-Z successfully. The community team is a key part of sharing these resources and support with their growing global community.

About the role

Contra is modifying the future of independent work. They are looking for a Community Operator to meet their fast-growing community team and help them develop the best community for independents.

You will be responsible for developing their community content strategy, actively responding to community support questions, and running their ambassador boot camp programs. You will be wearing many different hats in this role.

How you will make an impact

• Goal-driven with community initiatives and responsibilities.


• The candidate should work closely with team members across their community, social/marketing, research/product, and operations teams to understand their user and team needs.


• Should create organized, scalable systems that are thinking into the future.


• Should identify systems that can be improved and create a game plan of how to implement changes.


• Should be engaging with independents across the world in their community slack.

You will be successful here if you

• Succeed in a remote-first environment


• Have previous experience working independently (nice to have)


• Are motivated by having autonomy, flexibility, and end-to-end ownership


• Should be passionate about bringing communities together and helping users better understand a product


• You are an A+ communicator (both written plus verbal) that has a strong track record in creating alignment across stakeholders.


• They are located in a time zone within three hours of San Francisco.
