Whom They are Looking For

They are looking for someone with proven experience in a Data Scientist role, preferably for an SMB or enterprise-grade SaaS. You will demonstrate specific examples of how your work delivered actionable insights that enhanced the client experience.

A candidate will need the following skillsets to be successful in this position

Must have a strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL)

Must have experience with statistical modeling (such as time series forecasting and A/B testing)

Must have experience with data visualization and dashboarding (R plotting libraries/Tableau or Python)

Experience with applied machine learning for classification, regression, and clustering

Experience with cloud computing (e.g., GCP)

As a fully remote team, they are looking for hands-on, senior-level candidates whose initial focus and love is the work. Asynchronous is the default mode of communication here at Float. What You Will Do

You will partner with their experienced team of Senior Product Managers in developing and discovering new product features. Then, from briefs backed by qualitative feedback, you will use quantitative data to sharpen the narrative and shape the solution.

Examples of this work involve analyzing patterns in the delta between actual work hours and customer planned that enable teams to forecast a future project more accurately. Another may be the impact of scheduled time Off on long-term project performance. Along this path, your investigations will aim to reveal innovative and unique data-driven insights and solutions.

You will have access to Google Analytics, raw database data, and Amplitude event tracking from day one. Over time, and as they continue to scale, you will develop systems and tools to centralize, control, and visualize this data and define the future of data science at Float. Your work will be measured by improvements to net client growth, with a primary focus on driving client team-size expansion.
